Files Included

Inside the zipped file folder which you downloaded, there are various folders and files. You will need to extract the files and folders to a location on your computer, preferably desktop. The file named quickstart.zip is the quickstart package. Install this if you do not wish to start managing content afresh. Otherwise, there is a zipped folder named “templates.” This folder contains the templates for Joomla 2.5x and Joomla3x. Install these templates if you intend to start managing content on a clean Joomla installation. Please note that installing the template alone DOES NOT guarantee you getting the same layout as in the demo site. You will have to manage the content accordingly. Should the files in quickstart.zip fail to install, then you should use the alternative one provided, which is in the folder backed-up.zip.

Documentation on how to install the backed up version is included. There is also an extensions folder. This folder contains the modules, plugins and components used in the demo site. Some extensions like widgetkit is provided in their lite version since the pro versions are commercial and can be bought from Widgetkit download. Terms.txt is a small text file containing the license information and also terms of use. The user manual is indicated accordingly.

Installing the template

The template to install will depend on the version of Joomla that you are running. If you are running Joomla version 2.5, then install the template labeled agrocorp25.zip. otherwise, if you are running the latest version of Joomla, that is version 3 and above, then install the template named agrocorp.zip. These templates are contained inside the zip folder templates.zip.

Setting up the logo

There are two versions of the logo. These are the main logo and small logo for tablets and mobile phones. To set up the main logo, make sure that you have your logo in the images folder or any other subfolder within the images’ folder. Make sure that you have advanced custom html module installed. Open advanced custom html module and then under the html code, insert the html code for inserting images. Assign this module to the module position “logo.” To set up mobile display logo, repeat as described above, but for the module position, choose “logo-small.” Different logos can be assigned to different pages.

Setting up the navigation menu

To set up navigation menu, go to extensions > modules > new and click on menu. Choose the menu that you would like this module to display and assign it to module position “menu.” More menu settings can be found in the template administration section. Make sure that you have set “show sub-menu items” to “yes.” Setting up mobile off canvas menu involves repeating the process described above but assigning the menu module to the positon “off canvas.”

Template layout and customizations

There are more options available in the administration section of the template.

For modules, choose the layout "Box Primary." There are other module display options also available.

Customizer

In this section, you can change the background colour of the template body, header, text, links etc. Typography is also styled via the customizer. For more information, please click here.

Typography

There is detailed documentation on typography elements which has been provided in the template demo site under the menu item Features

Installing the quickstart package

The easiest way to achieve the replica of the demo site is by installing the quickstart package. There are three major ways of doing this. The first one is by running the Joomla installer and then during the installation of sample data, choosing “Default English Sample Data.” This method can sometimes fail. It has already done so to many in the last step of installing sample data and creating database tables. To work around this, you may have to increase the maximum execution time on your server.

The second way is by directly exporting the sample_data.sql file to your online or localhost phpmyadmin and renaming configuration.php-dist file to configuration.php and then editing it to match what you have in the database. This file can be located from the installation folder. For the database file, open the installation folder > sql > mysql and then the file named sample_data.sql is the one to be used.

If all of the above methods fail, use the backed version which has also been included in the download files. Documentation for this is included in pdf form.

Demo Site in Detail

Tens of customizations have been applied in order to get the demo to be the way that it is.
